The Year of the Family. And the year we started testing AI before it reaches our children.
We built Aman because no one was testing whether AI is safe for children. Now someone is.
Why Aman exists
Our children are growing up with AI.
No one was checking if it was safe.
2026 is the UAE Year of the Family, dedicated to Growing in Unity, nurturing family closeness, and laying the foundations for confident and capable generations. Across the country, children use AI every day, in homework apps, study companions, chatbots that talk back. These tools are now part of the everyday moments that shape how children think, what they feel, and who they trust.
Until now, every certification available checked one thing: whether an app handles data correctly. Consent forms. Privacy policies. Password storage. None of them tested whether the AI resists grooming, blocks self-harm, prevents emotional manipulation, or withstands the tricks a curious child will try.
The UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025 on Child Digital Safety changed that. It mandated enhanced protection for children online. Aman is the certification programme that makes the law work.
Mission and vision
What we have built. What comes next.
Children in the UAE use AI before they start secondary school. Most use it daily by age 10. Every app they open, every chatbot that answers their questions, every system that learns their habits becomes part of how they develop. For families across the UAE, children now spend more time with screens than with textbooks. The apps they use shape what they learn, who they talk to, and how they feel.
Our vision
A childhood where every digital experience has been proven safe.
As families grow closer in a digital world, the technology their children use should grow safer with them. Aman begins with AI and will expand to cover websites, social media, gaming, and every digital environment where children learn, play, and connect. A future where no family has to wonder.
Our mission
To ensure that every digital product a child uses has been independently tested and certified safe.
Aman tests every AI product across 14 safety dimensions and six developmental stages. Parents, teachers, and regulators get one answer: this AI has been tested for child safety. Here are the scores.
What we do
Three things. All for the same reason.
We test
We run thousands of adversarial scenarios against every AI product that wants to reach children. Grooming tactics, jailbreak attacks, emotional manipulation, data extraction. Across 14 safety dimensions and six age groups, from toddlers to young adults.
We certify
Products that pass receive a government-backed Aman certification. Products that fail receive a detailed report showing exactly where they need to improve. The government reviews every result before a certification is granted.
We inform
Parents and educators can search any AI app in the Aman registry and see whether it has been tested, what it scored, and which age groups it is certified for. One search. One answer.
